The Role 

Millington Pope has been exclusively retained to recruit a Technical Support Engineer. Reporting to the Head of Support, the TSE will underpin climote’s customer service experience by providing fast, efficient technical assistance for both climote’s internal and external customers. This position carries a broad range of technical duties, from providing first-class technical support direct to customers, to complex problem investigation and diagnosis. A key part of the role is to lead the testing and consumer trials for new products and software releases, giving the candidate early exposure to a range of new technologies and techniques. 


 Technical Customer Support

  • Provide technical support to climote customers and installers 
  • Deliver customer support within agreed service levels and maintain a high call closure rate 
  • Analyse live issues and close where possible, escalating to R&D team where necessary
  • Continuously identify ways to improve the efficiency of the support service
  • Provide periodic statistics for management review as required

  Develop and test new climote products and software 

  • Test the climote devices, cloud service and apps as needed
  • Set up and run automated tests, analysing results and liaising with engineering as required


Requirements 

The Technical Support Engineer will be a Technology Graduate with 2-5 yrs commercial experience in an active technical / customer support role, preferably involving hardware, software and/or communications.  The successful candidate will have experience with one or more automated help desk / call tracking systems and will have worked in both B2B and B2C roles. 


The following skills would be an advantage: 

  • Electrical wiring and installation skills supported by industry qualification 
  • Experience with test automation software and systems 
  • Ability to self-direct and manage time to meet deadlines
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, to communicate with colleagues and customers.
  • Positive attitude, with strong emphasis on being a team player
  • Commitment to quality and an advocate for the user
