Algorithm Engineer – Dublin south - 12 month contract or fixed term contract
Our client, a well-respected Medical Research company, currently has two openings for Algorithm Developers. To be the right Algorithm Developer for this role, you should have a strong academic background in a mathematics focused subject. In addition you should have at least three years developing algorithms in a R&D type environment. One of the positions open is permanent, while the other will be a one year contract.

Responsibilities
• Working as part of an R&D team on technology for the monitoring of physiological parameters for both consumer and medical applications
• Design, implementation, testing and documenting new innovative algorithms
• Assisting hand-over of algorithms for software implementation
• Contribute to the expansion of the IP patent portfolio
• Liaise with customers / partners at a technical level
• Manage communication across all relevant stakeholders
• Work closely with RST’s software implementation and systems integration teams
• Provide input into the verification/validation of products and services incorporating RST’s movement and breathing sensing and analysis technology
Essential Requirements
• BE in Electronic/Biomedical Engineering, or cognate field
• 5 years plus working experience in development of algorithm for monitoring of physiological parameters for medical and/or consumer applications
• Strong fundamentals in Algorithm development e.g. Classifier Theory, Machine Learning, Statistics etc.
• Experience in delivering algorithms to target platforms for commercial/production applications
• Previous experience working with highly focused cross-functional teams
• Working experience with source control
• Working experience with large datasets and algorithm performance evaluation
• Proficiency in Matlab
• Strong formal and informal communication skills
• Design and development methodologies
Desirable Requirements
• Relevant post-graduate qualification (PhD or BE + MSc)
• Experience writing documentation within the framework of a Quality System
• Experience in working with radio frequency sensors
• Strong knowledge of the mechanics and physiology of human breathing
• Publications of research in peer-reviewed journals
• Working experience with international customers/partners
• Working experience in C
