We have an opportunity for Technical Software Development Manager to deliver solutions across multiple projects by effectively co-ordinating and managing resources, and the overall technical capability. We ideally want someone with a Java or C software development background, this person will be managing a team from a project perspective.
The role offers technical challenges and learning opportunities which will suit a self-driven individual with a natural ability to assist and support our valued clients.

Managing and coordinating resources and processes to deliver software releases, customer trials and solution demonstrations to the highest standards

Work closely with our Sales Team to translate raw customer requirements into solutions

Collaborate with our Customer Operations team to translate customer requirements (new features and change requests) into development functional-level requirements inline with operational objectives

Work together with Development, System Test and Support teams to coordinate project planning including defining project goals, allocating resources, managing test, deployment and maintenance phases and tracking ongoing progress to ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines

Liaise with Management team to identify project needs including staffing and equipment shortfalls

Participate in meetings with end customers

Complete audits and generate metrics relating to projects and development-related activities and identify trends. Generate and present reports to Management team

Assist with improvement and implementation of the software development process

Contribute to strategic product roadmap development

Evaluation and implementation of SCM tools for both C and Java-related projects

Continuously explore, evaluate, and manage introduction of new technologies to maximise development efficiency

Liaise with Customer Operations & Development teams to identify, prioritise and plan bug fixes both on customer sites and internally

Organise development on-call rota

Participate in the recruitment process

Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development

Contribute to project reports as required by external agencies


Relevant engineering degree

A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a similar role in Telecoms Software Development

Excellent leadership, project management, time management, and problem solving skills

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Strong understanding of the software development cycle

Ability to assess and prioritise technical issues and effectively communicate these priorities internally and externally
