Our client, a multinational financial services company, currently has a job opening for a Graph Databased Development Lead.
You will lead a team that is involved in the delivery of innovative data-oriented applications and services. You will be expected to own the database design aspects of a solution to manage client data across multiple platforms. You will be a key subject matter expert (SME) for Graph databases as well as providing support and challenge to application and database developers.
You will come from a background of Graph or Multi-model database implementations and be comfortable leading a team using Agile and Iterative best practices.

As the Client Data Development Lead you will be part of a DataLab Team responsible for delivering quality database & application solutions/prototypes for the integration and exploitation of Client Data. You will be able to demonstrate structured approaches to problem solving and be able to operate in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum development environment. As a key technology SME you will be familiar with modern database trends and be expected to contribute suggestions to the DataLab Technology roadmap and technology agenda.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a small team of Data Solutions Architects, Analysts and Software Developers
• Work with the Programme Manager and Client Data Analytics Lead to set technology & solution strategy for the integration of client data across multiple sources
• Responsible for managing the development of compelling and innovative graph database solutions aligned to business requirements
• Ensure that database solutions support the Business, Advanced Analytics & MI applications and deliverables
• Oversee the system development lifecycle (SDLC), from technical requirements gathering and validation activities through to production deployment.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, developers, and end-users to deliver working solutions in an Agile and Iterative manner.
• Develop & Deliver a database technology roadmap, including continual improvement and adoption of new database technologies.
• Provide coaching/mentoring to team members on all aspects
• Participate in DataLab Management Team Initiatives and Agenda Setting

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven solutions development experience across Database and Big Data technologies over 8 years Senior level Applied knowledge of: Graph Database development (Neo4j, Titan)
• Multi-model Database development (Virtuoso, Blazegraph)
• Good knowledge of existing Linked Datasets and Endpoints.
• Working understanding of Graph theory.
• Quickly comprehend how linked data can be applied to Banking Datasets or show examples of similar deployments in other industries.
• Agile and iterative delivery best practices (Scrum, Kanban, EssUP/RUP)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Education/Certification:

• Educated to degree level (or overseas equivalent)
• Formal database certifications or proven experience to equivalent level.
• Candidate will be:
• Capable of motivating and inspiring a team across multiple levels of experience
• A creative technologist passionate about data and information
• Innovative, creative, articulate and able to work directly with a broad range of stake holders
• Able to demonstrate examples of previous successful deliveries and a track record in providing insight and innovation through the application of leading edge database technologies.
