Senior Project Manager, Consultancy, City Centre location. The Senior Project Manager will lead projects through the full project lifecycle handing over to operational service and project closure, delivering large and complex projects. You will ensure that the operational services required as a result of the introduction of new services are defined and a timely resolution of any issues arising due to changes. As a Senior Project Manager, your prime responsibility will be to ensure that the project produces the required products, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost. The Senior Project Manager is also responsible for the project producing a result which is capable of achieving the benefits defined in the business case or project initiation document. Responsibilities Organisation - Managing the delivery of the solution in partnership with the customer and your team to ensure acceptance, from project initiation and creation of the PID to project closure and where required, handover to service management. Planning – Defining the project requirements and scope and preparing and managing a detailed project plan from initiation through to project closure. The detailed project plan will be to the level that accurate cost estimates can be completed. Controls & Stages - Ensuring that appropriate internal audits and checkpoints are in place to proactively identify issues that may impact project timelines or cost and implement remediation plans. Producing and coordinating materials and baselines during all phases of the project by careful planning and documentation. Adhering to internal governance requirements. Issue & Risk Management - Managing risks and producing effective plans and risk assessments so that timescales and project costs are understood and underwritten by the appropriate parties. Quality Management – Agree on the technical and quality strategy with appropriate members of the project board and ensuring that regular quality reviews are established and included in upfront costs. Change Control - Establishing and maintaining the change control and configuration management for the deliverables of your project against agreed plans. Identifying opportunities to increase revenue and margin alongside managing any changes to the contractual baseline. Managing the customer firmly in relation to the identification of changes and reaching agreements related to change costs. Financial Management – Ensuring the impact on the Company's P&L due to project activities are within the scope of the project. Being accountable for managing and tracking the project costs and in meeting payment milestones. Team Management - Defining the roles and responsibilities of the project team and establishing the project team ensuring the team understand the task that is to be undertaken. Providing leadership, support and guidance to the team as well as giving direction and motivation.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a computer science, information technology discipline or equivalent Minimum 8 years’ experience working in the IT industry, most of that time preferably in a project management role Project Management Certification Delivered a large transformation programme (Global or European level an advantage) Delivered at least 3 successful infrastructure projects with medium to high complexity. Experience as a change manager on a programme. Experience of managing other types of ICT projects e.g. applications Experience of delivering projects that use global delivery centres Vendor / supplier / 3rd party management experience. Experience working in at least two different market sectors. Experience working on more than one project at a time Experience of managing teams of 20+ resources Experience of estimating for, managing and cost reporting for fixed price contracts including appropriate levels of contingency,
