Due to continued growth in Ireland (with offices in the UK as well) our client has an opening for a PHP developer to join their team. They specialise in mobile participation services (IVR, SMS, MMS services) , with an emphasis on billing solutions and graphic design.
This role involves working as part of the software development team on a variety of projects spanning product development, R&D and systems integration on highly transactional websites in new and exciting markets.
Main Responsibilities
• Apply your expertise in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript & Laravel to extend, enhance and build great user experiences
• Work closely with a team of passionate developers and deliver daily, efficient updates
• Ability to deal with rapid change in a positive manner
• Adopt and enhance effective practices
• Represent the organisation in customer and partner meetings
• Generate and apply design ideas
• Develop highly optimised desktop/mobile websites and applications
• Design and run tests on prospective tools integration
Must haves
• At least four years experience in a web development role
• Object Oriented PHP and experience developing web applications using Laravel.
• Expertise in MySQL/Redis
• Mobile web development experience
• LEMP stack knowledge
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Ability to write clean frontend code in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• An interest in emerging technologies
• Exceptional problem solver
Nice to haves
• Good understanding of SEO fundamentals
• Media streaming/download technologies
• Interest in emerging markets
• Familiarity with caching technologies such as Memcached & Varnish
• Familiarity with Redis
• Load Testing Experience
