About this Development Manager Opportunity:
• This Development Manager Opportunity is with a well established Financial Services house. It is a fantastic opportunity for you to join at a Senior Level reporting to the Head of IT
• You will also work closely with the CTO to ensure that IT Strategy decisions are driven through the projects etc
• You will have the opportunity to have a real impact!
• You will be responsible for leading, motivating and developing the Projects and Enhancements Teams to deliver on agreed tasks within agreed timelines
• You will provide guidance and technical mentoring to less experienced members where necessary and will operate a key role in ensuring high quality code and solutions are delivered by the product development team
• You will be ensuring all processes and procedures are in line with the highest standards of software delivery



The (Accountabilities) and Level of responsibility for this Development Manager:
Lead, motivate and develop the Projects & Enhancements Teams towards the successful completion of projects and tasks by:
• Distributing all development and enhancements tasks within the team, ensuring that they are assigned in line with skills and experience of the team members
• Guiding, advising and supporting the team and leveraging technical skills to drive technical solutions
• Identify potential conflicts or issues and proactively manage all support tasks
• Define and improve processes and procedures within the area ensuring that standards and practices are being followed and improved over time
• To comply with risk control and regulatory requirements that is relevant to this role
• Proactively manage customer needs and expectations
• Maintain healthy communication channels internally and externally
• Lead / participate in Project Meetings and Presentations in relation to all aspects of the Projects & Enhancements Teams
• Work with Head of IT on key project deliverables and any other duties that may be required throughout the year

You will be required to take responsibility for the planning, execution and integration stage of all software solutions

You will also hold responsibility for the provision of application support

You will need to represent the company on engagements with ETS



The Level of Knowledge / Skills / Experience (Technical Competency) required for this Development Manager role:
• Knowledge of risk control & regulatory environment
• Commercial awareness
• Previous experience leading a team is essential
• Proven analytical, problem solving, and client servicing skills
• Strong Analysis and Design Skills are essential
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
• Ability to work on own initiative and liaise with all levels of management in the company
• At least 10 years’ commercial experience in Development Related roles with 2-3 years’ experience managing teams of 10+ staff
• You will have very strong technical competency across SQL Server, C#, Web Services, WPF, WCF, Entity Framework, Microsoft Desktop Technologies and also have experience with AS400\RPG (Ideal but not essential)
