Microsoft BI Developer // Dublin 18 // Construction Industry Market Leader
My client is a market leader in DIY retailing in the UK and Ireland. With over €25.7 billion in revenue in 2015 and over 10,000 employees in over 600 locations, they are a well-established and highly successful multinational with excellent long-term prospects. They currently have an opportunity for a resourceful, ambitious BI developer working with the Microsoft stack to join their highly motivated IT team.
Their offices in Sandyford, Dublin 18, are easily accessible by bus and luas services and housed in bright new premises. You will have the opportunity to take a hands-on approach to enhancing the reporting and analytic capability of the finance time, delivering advanced BI solutions and inplementing company-wide initiatives. Innovation here is key, and this role also offers the chance to work with the latest developments in predictive analytics and machine-learning.
As part of this role you will:
• Gather end-user requirements for a range of reporting solutions, both large and small.
• Test, design, build and document BI solutions, utilising the capabilities of the latest machine learning technologies.
• Demonstrate new Microsoft BI features to users and how they integrate with Office 365, and train users on solutions developed.
Technology requirements:
• At least 4 years of experience working with the full Microsoft BI stack - SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.
• Advanced excel skills, including what-if analysis, pivot tables and VBA programming.
• Previous experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2012, T-SQL and MDX.
• Knowledge of PowerView, PowerPivot, PowerQuery, Power BI Desktop or similar.
• Experience working on machine-learning projects with Azure, Watson or similar will work strongly in your favour.

• Energetic and positive with an upbeat attitude - a good sense of humour is a must.
• Strong intellect with a good eye for detail.
• Flexible approach to work, willing to play a full role in ensuring the success of the team.
• Consistent performance under pressure while remaining calm and self-assured.
• The business has operations based in Ireland, the UK, Belgium and The Netherlands and has ambitions in other geographies.
• This role is based in Sandyford, Dublin but occasional travel may be required.
