Our client, a global insurance brand is currently looking for a Network Security Engineer (6 month daily rate contract) to join their IT team in Dublin.

Responsibilities:

• Network Security Engineer is required to manage and maintain the day to day security operations
and system change lifecycle of the company’s critical security devices and tools. This includes
Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web Proxy servers
• The ideal candidate will provide Senior technical support for all perimeter security devices in region
and providing leadership to junior team members

Key Tasks & Accountabilities:

• Assist coordination and implementation of security services across Group
• May require occasional travel to the business division headquarters, corporate centre, and across
region depending on role location) or conference locations, travel will typically not exceed 5%

Qualifications/ Experience:

Reporting to the Border Protection Lead manage and maintain the configuration/ availability and system lifecycle of all key perimeter/ internal security devices Fire in region. Respond to incident escalation requirements from security tools and support SOC functions in region
The following are some of the duties required but are not definitive:
• IP Address Management (IPAM)
• DNS Management
• Firewall policy maintenance
• Firewall base line security
• Monitoring and response device health
• IDS/IPS management
• Web Proxy management
• Provide proactive fault management and vendor engagement
• Perimeter Hygiene
• General Network Security
• Operate and maintain security tools within the Security Response responsibility

Knowledge:

• Good understanding of IT Security practices, methodologies, tools, mechanisms and trends
• To be able to communicate and write high quality reports in English
• Strong integrity and highly ethical

Technical Skills:

• 5-7 years professional experience managing enterprise Firewall/ Security environments
• A Bachelor’s Degree Computer Engineering would be good but not essential
• Following qualifications would be good but not essential:
o Qualified Juniper Firewall Management to JNCIP or JNCIE standards
o Qualified CISCO ASA Firewall Management to CCNP standard
o Qualified Checkpoint CSSA standard
o Knowledge managing IDS/IPS systems
o Knowledge managing IP Management and DNS systems
o Knowledge managing CISCO ScanSafe Proxy
o In depth knowledge of Network Security Architecture
o Excellent knowledge of implementing IPSEC VPN on CISCO ASA
o Qualified or working towards certification like CISSP or CISA
o Experience of working with MSS providers or in security operations
o Good team player
o Self-starter
