Team Lead / VP Engineering - Blackrock
My client, who are one of Irelands leading Travel technology companies are hiring a VP of Engineering to guide their development team. This position has arisen due to the expansion of the I.T department.
Role: VP Engineering
You will be an experienced software development leader, an executive who can step in and deliver timely solutions to the market, and execute challenging development activities.
As VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering on the Company's overall technology vision, shaping its technical strategy, and driving its development execution
Responsibilities - Team Lead / VP Engineering - Blackrock
� Providing overall structure and technology direction for the development of applications and communication infrastructure supporting the Company’s solutions.
� Act as Lead Engineer on high profile projects, which may include writing code.
� Oversee all activities of the development groups (development, QA, and application release).
� Assuming overall responsibility for the current and long term direction of technology by enhancing and implementing best-in-class programs, policies, practices and systems while delivering high quality and repeatable results.
� Support the development of the Company’s product roadmap
� Recruiting, managing and continuously developing through leadership and collaborative team building a world-class team of technology professionals viewed as the leader in the energy management industry
� Evaluating new technologies and solutions in the market and being responsible for keeping abreast of trends that may impact the Company
Requirements
� Interest in joining an early stage revenue generating company with a small but growing technology team
� Previous senior leadership roles in product or application development and engineering for high growth companies
� Proven leadership of software teams that have delivered great products on deadline
� Proven ability to recruit the best and brightest developers in the world.
� Excellent communication skills, strong team player, and the ability to work cross functionally in a fast-paced, high-productivity startup environment
� Experience in a structured product management environment.
� Experience in a multi-product, multi-application development environment
� Experience in developing products and solutions around .Net, C#, Mysql, PHP, AJAX, SOAP and XEN.
� Experience in building and maintaining applications that are mission critical for customers
� B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related engineering field
� 8+ years of product engineering experience
� Experience in travel not required, but considered a plus.
