Information Systems Technical Analyst
Purpose of role:
An exciting role with responsibility for maintaining and extending in-house and Workday system integrations whilst providing technical support to business teams and users
Key Responsibilities:
System Monitoring
You will be part of the team in charge of key data flows to both internal teams and external vendors, monitoring daily interface and system activity to fulfil critical SLA metrics. As part of this team your daily duties will include
- Monitoring of scheduled integrations on diverse systems across several time zones
- Working closely with other teams to ensure crucial deliverable targets are met
- Tracking, investigation and resolving day to day incidents and issues
- Prompt escalation and reporting of outages/ issues to management
Change/ Release Management
You will own integration change processes from definition to final deployment, and be responsible for end-to-end change management, including
- Meeting with internal or external stakeholders to determine business requirements
- Developing these business requirements into technical and logical code processes
- Unit testing / back testing proposed changes against existing architecture
- Accurate and timely releases as per schedule, support and review of same as required
- Observance of code, source code management, release and ticketing standards
Other duties
Aside from daily monitoring and change management, you will handle a wide range of ad-hoc activities from data extraction, reporting, scripting/automation to monitoring
performance statistics… all providing ample scope for self-starters to contribute to the on-going ICT team process evolution while simultaneously growing and developing their own career path
Key requirements:
• Educated to degree level in computer science, or with equivalent industry experience
• Practical and effective problem solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to translate processes and requirements into code
• A well rounded coding background including core competencies across HTML, JavaScript, databases and SQL alongside a demonstrable knowledge of XML and XSLT transformations
• A minimum of 2 years application support experience, ideally in a fast paced environment supporting multiple scheduled interfaces with tight SLAs
• Practical experience running, debugging, error trapping in interfaces / integrations
• Knowledge of testing, industry standard ticketing and source code tools e.g. GIT
• Knowledge, experience in FTP, file formats and data transport
Nice to have requirements:
• Highly desirable: Workday experience and integration certification
• Highly desirable: Systems applications experience in the Retail sector
• Desirable : demonstrated experience in one advanced programming language e.g. C++
• Desirable : demonstrated scripting experience in Unix/ PHP/ASP/ Powershell
The Ideal candidate will have:
• Strong communication skills - including excellent interpersonal , customer facing skills
• The ability to work using their own initiative, seeing assigned tasks through to completion on schedule within a high pressure fast-paced, dynamic environment
• A solid technical background combined with the ability to understand business requirements and accurately assess any impact on systems and processes
• The ability to work alongside management at all levels within the business
• Strong planning and organisation skills, ability to plan and prioritise their work schedule according to priorities and deliver work within agreed timescales
• Accuracy, attention to detail and a “can do” pro-active approach essential
Overall the role does requires someone with a certain level of coding skills and experience with XSLT desirable
