IT Security Engineer
An exciting opportunity has opened up with my client in Dundalk. We are currently seeking an IT Security Engineer to work with a large multinational who is a leader in their field, developing and working with the teams to secure their applications, servers and networks. The position will be responsible for managing the VPN’s and firewalls for our global network, ensuring that compliance scans and audits are adhered to and completed within the allotted timeframes. The IT Security Engineer will work cross functionally with global Technology teams to ensure the integrity and security of corporate applications and networks in the client's estate.
Duties and Responsibilities
� Undertake regular compliance scans, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments
� Review and monitor applications for security leaks in conjunction with development teams
� Perform security activities for development projects that would include security design reviews and blackbox/graybox security assessments.
� Configure and maintain various security products including, SIEM, Anti-virus, IDS and DLP
� Schedule and coordinate activities with our development teams in planning, execution, and mitigation of identified vulnerabilities.
� Work with our legal counsel to support various industry standard compliancy initiatives critical to the organization's information privacy.
� Develop and support the best practice methodology for policy assessment and security awareness training to IT application developers.
Knowledge and Skills Required
� Third level degree in a related discipline required
� 3 - 5+ years professional experience
� CISSP, CISMP or recognized equivalent
� Fully conversant with compliance and federal standards in the context of IT security i.e. PCI-DSS, FISMA, SOX, COBIT, ISO 27001, ISO 27002
� Skilled in penetration testing at the application layer using vulnerability scanning tools, experience with Nexpose a distinct advantage
� Good working knowledge of security information and event management (SIEM) software products, knowledge of IBM Qradar a distinct advantage
� Experience with application security (confidentiality, authenticity, integrity, privacy)
� Experience with OS, application vulnerability and patch analysis
� Encryption and key Management (whole disk, file-level, network, database)
� Understanding of secure software development and coding practices for application development and application security
� Good working knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems
� Good working knowledge of enterprise networks, TCP/IP, firewalls and VPNs
� Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
� Team player and able to work effectively in a geographically distributed team environment.
� Ability to meet predetermined deadlines with shifting priorities.
� Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on own initiative
� Well versed in Microsoft Office products including Project and Visio.
� Certified Ethical Hacker certification is preferred
� Network Security and Information Assurance Certifications preferred
