Espion are looking to recruit up to 4 talented people for client facing roles who can provide and lead Data Protection projects with our clients under the direction of the Head of Consultancy. 

These are consultancy roles and you will lead Data Protection projects including business process reviews, data workflow analysis, privacy impact assessments, policy creation and implementation, audits / reviews, and workshops.

Candidates should have an understanding and expertise in some of the following areas:          
  • Data Protection Officer/ Compliance experience (internally or on an outsourced basis) 
  • Experience developing and delivering a Data Protection Framework and Monitoring Plan to monitor adherence with data protection legislation and policy 
  • Managing and responding to Data Protection Subject Access Requests 
  • Experience undertaking Data Protection compliance audits in accordance with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner audit standards, including data controllers and data processors where appropriate           
  • Data loss prevention mechanisms 
  • Auditing software, communication, computing systems and their architectures 
  • User Awareness 
  • ICT and Information Security standards (e.g. ISO 27000 series) and their trends 
  • Definition, implementation and management of ICT and Information Security policies 
  • Definition and management of ICT and Information standard, procedures and guidelines 
  • Risk and Privacy Impact Assessments 
  • Project management principles 
  • IT best practices (ITIL, COBIT, etc) 
Requirements                            
Educational qualifications    
Third level qualification in an IT related field with possibly some further information security or data protection education.         
Candidates will hold certification in one or some of, the following or equivalent 
  • Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection (PDP)  
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP/E)  
  • Certified Information Privacy Technologies (CIPT)   
  • Association of Compliance Officers Ireland (ACOI)  
  • Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)  
  • Certified Information System Manager (CISM) 

Technical expertise    
Experience in security issues of information technologies and data protection issues / legislation   Experience as team leader or project leader for complex   projects    
In-depth knowledge of EU and Irish data protection   legislation    
Previous experience conducting compliance or information security audits    
Experience interviewing business stakeholders and analysing data inventories and workflows         

Other specific expertise    
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and   report-writing skills 
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and manage  relationships  
  • Ability to work off own initiative  Innovative thinker with strong organisational skills 
  • Ability to write high level and detailed technical reports  
  • Organised and structured approach to work with an  ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team  
  • Ability to communicate to stakeholders at all levels in the context of user awareness activities
