Our client, a well-established and very well recognised South Dublin based IT company has an excellent IT Job opportunity for an experienced MySQL DBA. This DBA job will give you great autonomy and the opportunity to work in a collaborative and warm environment. The role is based close to the DART in South Dublin.
Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, you will work as part of the Technical Services team, supporting the development team to deliver a robust, reliable and 99.9% uptime service to their customers.
Job Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
• Maintaining the current database infrastructure
• Monitoring servers across multiple data-centres
• Performing query troubleshooting
• Preparing and running MySQL versions upgrades
• Acting as a resource for the development team, providing advice on schema changes, best practices and optimization
• Process review & identifying areas of improvement
• Backup/restore planning, testing & execution
• Db aspects of Disaster recovery/Business Continuity planning & execution
• Database security analysis, implementation & maintenance
Requirements / Qualifications for this Job:
• 3 - 5 years’ work experience with MySQL on a DBA level
• MySQL Certification(s)
• Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Familiarity with fail-over and point-in-time recovery
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools like Nagios / MySQL Enterprise Monitor / Grafana
Strong Understanding of:
• MySQL architecture
• InnoDB Storage Engine
• Replication (asynchronous, semi-synchronous, SSL)
• GTID
• Difference between binary log types
Preferred Qualifications, but not mandatory
• Proficiency with PHP and or Perl
• Experience with Ansible
• Knowledge of LAMP stack
• Experience with Enterprise Architect
