Java Team Lead

The Role:

Our client is rapidly expanding their office in Dublin having increased their numbers by almost 50% in the last 12 months. They’re now looking for Java Team Leaders to help drive and manage their growth. If you want to manage a software team and maintain your hands-on development skills, then this is the role you’ve been looking for.

The Responsibilities:

• You’ll be managing a mixed team of between 5 and 8 development and QA engineers
• You’ll be their coach and mentor
• You’ll act as the Scrum Master for the team and a key proponent of agile delivery methods
• You’ll act as the key communication point for the team – you’ll report to the development manager their progress and disseminate information to the team
• You’ll act as a developer for about 50% of your time, so you’ll stay at the cutting edge of technology

The Requirements:

• You must be eligible to live and work in the EU on application
• You should have at least 10 years of software development experience with several years’ experience of leading teams
• You should have proven expertise in Java and be passionate about cutting-edge software engineering methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
• You should have experience acting as a Scrum Master
• You should have experience working on Windows and Linux
• You should have experience using Git or SVN or other source code control mechanism
• You should be educated to a Degree level in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
