A world leading provider of managed services and high-precision, high-speed connectivity. With clients spanning the Financial, TMT and iGaming sectors are expanding their operation in the Irish market. They currently have an opening for a Linux System Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the server and desktop infrastructure, the expansion and growth of the network, on-boarding new clients and supporting the NOC team.

This role is for a self-starter with a track record of managing systems and infrastructure, while this position is focused on system administration, there is an element of support for large projects and deployments.


• System administration of 100+ Servers worldwide. Maintain existing systems, build/deploy servers
based on standard build process
• Build Linux and Windows systems (Desktop and Servers)
• Maintain databases behind monitoring platforms on both Windows and Linux based systems (SQL,
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, Contribute to and maintain
system standards
• Perform daily system monitoring ad security monitoring to identify and possible issues, Maintain
operational, configuration, or other procedures
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
• Provide technical support, incident, and problem management to end users on technology issues
regarding system operations and networks including software support and administration,
installation, setups, error messages, system status, and downtime procedures etc.
• Troubleshoots and supports software applications and business processes, troubleshoots and
repairs new or existing hardware. Analyses and tests new hardware/software configurations
• Prepare technical documentation including standard procedures and reports
• Provide technical support for local and remote users including remote support and VPN support
• Assist in the transfer of software applications and reports between development, test and
production environments
• Conduct design reviews of the company’s existing environment as well as offer solutions to future
scalability challenges
• Provide 2nd level support, flexibility to support OOHs faults and client service issues
• Travelling to data centre locations to implement new services – due 24x7x365 operation, must be
available for occasional out of hours work


• Desired candidate would have 4+ years of proven Systems admin experience
• The ability to work in a small company and alongside different groups to efficiently delivers
• A creative approach to problem solving
• Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) with attention to detail
• Strong relationship building skills with both internal team and external clients
• A good level of business awareness and commercial acumen
• Strong organizational, ability to “own” projects start to finish
• Able to take a creative approach to situations and problem solving
• Good client facing and inter-personal communication skills, with the emotional resilience to
manage demanding users in a high-pressure operational environment
• Must be familiar with command lines, Unix Directory Structures, and Standard Unix Tools such as
Rsync and SSH
• Knowledge of dynamic IP routing protocols
• Experience with multiple versions of Linux (RedHat, Centos, FreeBSD)
• Experience building systems, servers, and virtual machines (VMWare ESX, VMWare VDI)
• Scripting knowledge (Bash and Perl)
• Database administration experience
• Visio, project plan and any programming languages a plus

In addition to the above, skills and qualifications you have mastered:

• Certifications: RHCE or LPT or Windows certification is preferred (Cisco/ RedHat/ Windows
• Platforms: Linux (multiple variants incl. RedHat, Centos & FreeBSD), Windows (Desktop and Server
i.e 2008 /2012), VMware, Windows Active Directory
• Protocols: TCP, UDP, NAT, Firewalls, VPN
• Server Hardware: Dell, HP, Supermicro

It would be great if you also have:

• Experience in financial environment/setting or equivalent a plus
• Upto date Cisco qualifications
• Salesforce CRM experience
