The Infrastructure Systems team is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a broad range of onsite and cloud experience across multiple platforms to support our transformation as we move from traditional IT to a DevOps environment.

As a Systems Engineer you will be a member of the team that manages the Vistaprint web site and the Cimpress Mass Customization platform hosted in Amazon’s public cloud and physical data centers in Ireland and Bermuda.  You will provide infrastructure across the globe at their manufacturing plants. Cimpress uses Microsoft Windows and multiple flavors of Linux for servers, EMC for traditional unified storage, software defined storage and primarily Cisco for networking.

We’re seeking the right kind of “lazy” engineers who see something repeatable and automate it or expose as it as Infrastructure-as-a-Service for developers to consume as needed.  You understand how to design, build, and right-size a solution.  You understand that we don’t need 100% uptime for something that must run hourly and you are willing to make the necessary changes when the solution needs the highest availability.

Our public facing sites must be up 24x7xForever; as such, you will be an escalation point for our Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams.

Job Description

·         Contribute to the architecture, design, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of solutions with teams across the organization.

·         Actively participate in activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations.

·         Develop repeatable tools and processes to enable Operations teams to manage and monitor the on premise IaaS.

·         Develop repeatable tools and processes to enable Development teams to deploy, manage, and monitor their own applications in the cloud.

·         Automate deployment and monitoring tasks.

·         Conduct performance and capacity management.

·         Implement disaster recovery solutions.

·         Perform maintenance, installation, and upgrade related tasks on compute, storage, and network infrastructure in the datacenter.

·         Position requires 25% travel per year to production facilities

Required skills & experience:

·         BS/BA in a computer field or equivalent work experience.

·         Strong bare metal hardware troubleshooting and support knowledge.

·         Solid Operating System management skills with Windows and/or Linux (Ubuntu, Centos)

·         Proficient in troubleshooting problems within a large distributed system,  (datacenter, server hardware, hypervisor, OS, application, network, storage, etc.).

·         Experience deploying and supporting infrastructure and application services in Public and Private cloud environments (AWS, Azure, VMware, OpenStack).

·         High degree of familiarity with a modern administrative scripting or programming language (Powershell, Bash, Python, etc.)

·         Relevant experience with configuration management and automation tools 

·         Comfortable working in a global team, and operating auto
