The Role
The ideal candidate for this position will have expert-level knowledge with Citrix solutions, including XenApp and XenDesktop, and be passionate about helping customers and companies optimize application/desktop delivery and their end-user experience with Citrix technologies.
This is a full-time opportunity with a rapidly-growing technology solutions integrator in Dublin, known for its success in delivering end-user computing and private cloud solutions to small medium and large enterprises. A fantastic career opportunity for the person who has right blend of technical depth and customer/solution focus. Responsibilities for the role will include pre-sales activities to drive new Citrix product/services business, project-based consulting services for strategic customer implementations, and evangelizing Citrix solutions through customer demos and events.
This position is expected to initially entail 30% pre-sales and 70% post-sales delivery (i.e. design/implementation services & support), with the opportunity to grow into a full-time pre-sales, full-time consulting, or even a leadership role for the integrator’s Citrix solutions practice as it continues to expand.
Required Skills
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience implementing and supporting The Citrix portfolio of products, including XenApp / Xendesktop, Cag’s, netscalers in multiple environments
• Strong interpersonal and written communications.
• Ability to guide customers through complex questions on how to best integrate desktop virtualization into their business, developing and articulating technology solutions that meet their use cases and business needs
• Strong written and documentation skills, and ability to author professional design documentation (Visio, Word, etc.) as well as customer demonstrations and proposals.
• Hands-on experience building end-to-end Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environments – including expert-level knowledge of XenApp configuration, XenDesktop, Provisioning Server, various hypervisors and management platforms (XenServer/XenCenter, vSphere/vCenter, Hyper-V, SCVMM)
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with internal and customer engineers for supporting technologies – including storage, networking, security, etc.
• Ability to configure and support NetScaler and Access Gateway solutions to support scalable delivery of applications and desktops to various endpoints
• Solid knowledge and experience with Windows 7 and application delivery/packaging solutions – including application packaging and virtualization (streaming/sequencing/isolation)
• Citrix CCEE certification or ability to achieve rapidly.
• Microsoft qualified with a high proficiency in Windows server, active directory.
Desired Skills
• Prior consulting or pre-sales experience a strong plus
• CCIA certification
• Experience with and knowledge of third-party solutions related to desktop virtualization – including thin Clients, thin boot applications, profile/personality management, print management, etc.
• Actively contributes to online Citrix community forums and blogs
• Existing relationships within Citrix Systems (product managers, Account Managers, pre-sales engineers, partner managers)
• Experience with VMware View
• Experience working with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007
