itContracting are currently seeking applicants for Cyber Security Technical Officer. This is a permanent position located with our client in Cork. 

Responsibilities
 
This Technical Officer will be situated in a IT Services Department to assist our client in major transformational projects, strategically planned for the coming years.
 
This position can be based in either Cork or Kerry, and may include some travel.

- Assist in advising, mentoring, and coaching of other staff members on cyber security.
- Ensure the successful implementation, development, daily administration/management of the clients Cybersecurity tools and systems.
- Respond to cybersecurity incidents and communicate with stakeholders effectively.
- Creation and coordination of cybersecurity service-related tickets through to resolution. Work with relevant stakeholders and service providers to ensure the cybersecurity policies, procedures and GDPR compliance.
- Assist with cybersecurity risk, governance, and compliance.
- Assist with defining, scoping and cybersecurity technical requirements with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist various departments with resolving cybersecurity related issues.
- Assist with internal and external cybersecurity assessments and audits.
- Administration of cybersecurity technologies and related system status reports for stakeholders.
- Assist with ensuring all ongoing cybersecurity efforts are continuously meeting and aligning with the client’s strategic goals.
- Work with the applications and operations teams on change control/enablement to ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practice and relevant legal requirements.
- Focus on cybersecurity to ensure new and existing systems comply with best practice, legal requirements and relevant policies.
- Assist with delivering the Cloud First transformation programme of projects.
- Continuously assist with the development of the cybersecurity team’s capabilities and foster a culture of self-development and taking initiative.
- Assist with management of providers and relevant procurement documentation.
- Assist with reviewing, analysis, and evaluation of tender responses.

 
Desirable
 

- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within information security or a similar technical operations environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders across various multidisciplinary teams.
- Good understanding of tools and system administration/management.
- Good understanding and experience working with cloud security technologies.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity risk methodologies and frameworks.
- Working knowledge in operational service management practices, e.g., ITIL.
- Professional certification/s in Cybersecurity would be beneficial.
- Any Dev-Ops/software development knowledge would be beneficial.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly outline and understand requirements.

                            
Requirements:

The minimum qualification will be an appropriate qualification of at least Level 8 under the QQI Framework from a recognised degree awarding authority. Not less than 3 years post qualification relevant experience subject to obtaining the above qualification.

Equivalent work experience.
 

Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland or currently hold a Stamp 1G/4 Visa to apply.
