Data Engineering Manager required for a leading national brand in the banking sector. This person will lead the data team, ensuring use of the best tools, practices and technologies with a particular focus on the Enterprise Data Lake.

They are flexible on working arrangements but ideally candidates should be able to visit Dublin office once a week for collaboration.

Responsibilities:

·        Proactive People Management ensuring that career path and data sharing is embedded in ways of working.

·        Ensure that technical development processes and tooling is appropriate and effective.

·        As a People Manager you will drive engagement and will be accountable for demonstrating and role modelling the Group values and behaviours through your people management and the way in which you deliver business goals.

·        Providing technical direction and leadership to engineering squads

·        Defining the technical capabilities and resource profiles required within the squads.

·        Ensuring engineering squads have the requisite tooling, methodology and processes.

Requirements

·        Demonstrable experience as Engineering Manager / Lead in the Enterprise Data Lake domain

·        Experience in implementing Event Driven Architecture and Data Streaming

·        Deep technical knowledge of EDL Technologies and Architecture

·        Large scale delivery experience and data management experience

·        Scrum / Kanban and SAFe delivery experience

·        Experience in data warehousing inclusive of dimensional modelling concepts and demonstrate proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl etc)

·        Demonstrable experience and a deep knowledge of data mining techniques and languages, relational, and non-relational databases
