Ergo are working with an Irish multinational market-leader in Dublin West who are undergoing a considerable expansion of their IT Support team.

As part of this expansion we require a Network Engineer for a permanent position in our clients Citywest global HQ.

The successful Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing organisational LAN / WANs to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure for users.

You will work under a Senior Network Engineer and training will be provided.

This is an onsite role with occasional travel.

What will you do?

* Assisting with the design and implementation of new network solutions
* Improving the efficiency of current networks
* Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, VLAN management, security, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
* Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
* Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximise network efficiency and security
* Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
* Arranging scheduled upgrades
* Investigating faults in the network
* Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases

What do you need?

* 2 years of networking experience
* Strong knowledge of network routing protocols including BGP, OSPF
* Strong knowledge of VPN tunnels (IPsec, PPTP, L2TP, etc)
* Knowledge of systems and network security principles, and general systems administration best practices
* Flexible in approach, capable of prioritising numerous work streams
* Excellent planning, organisation and administration skills
* CCNA / CCNP certificate is an advantage
