Overview:
Our client based in Dublin is looking for an IT Support Technician. This role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and upgrading the computer systems and networks. You will be expected to be responsible for installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving technical and application problems where required. This role will oversee the smooth running of computer systems and programs whilst ensuring users get maximum benefits from 1st and 2nd level support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1st and 2nd level support for staff
Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
Talk staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
Troubleshoot system, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
Replace parts as required
Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
Support the roll-out of new applications and/or infrastructure upgrades
Set up new user's accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
Establish a good working relationship with staff and other professionals, such as software developers, network technicians, system administrators
Test and evaluate new technology
Conduct electrical and safety checks on computer equipment
Experience Required & Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
Strong customer care experience
Flexible in approach, capable of prioritising numerous work streams
Excellent planning, organisation, and administration skills
Minimum 4 (Level 3 qualification or equivalent) Maths and English education
IT related qualification is desirable
