Bookassist is currently seeking to hire a passionate, user-centred Senior User Interface/User Experience Designer to join a collaborative and innovative digital Product team. The ideal candidate requires a well-rounded design thinker, driven by logic, structure and process; to create smart, visually delightful and easy-to-use digital products in a fast-paced environment.
The role is a remote working position however you must be based within one of Bookassist’s core markets; Ireland, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland or Austria. Occasional travel may be required in order to meet with team members in other locations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As a UX/UI Designer, you will drive the design, best practices and user experiences for Bookassist’s products.
- You will work side by side with Product Managers, Developers and Product Researchers.
- Assist in the design process from the conceptualisation to the implementation phases of new features and experiences.
- Proactively engage with internal or external users to validate product design decisions.
- Lead brainstorming and cross-product team collaboration sessions.
- Conduct user research and competitor analysis to solve user problems or business goals of the company.
- Provide constructive feedback and critique, complete with data when possible, on competitive designs and approaches.
- Flowchart end-to-end user journeys through the booking funnel increasing conversion.
- Leverage data to make value-driven design decisions.
- Identify users’ needs and help them reach their goals with your UX solutions.
- Constantly collaborate with the Product team to continually raise the bar for the product design quality and exchange expertise.
- Contribute to the creation and maintaining of the Style Guides and Libraries across the entire Bookassist product portfolio to provide consistency with all aspects of look and feel.
- Create test plans for new site features and current site features.
- Challenge the status quo where possible to deliver innovative designs to a high standard.
- Define user flows, low and high-fidelity mock-ups, detailed interaction specs, wireframes and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years of direct experience as a UX/UI Designer is required.
- A strong portfolio is a must.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong visual skills (use of typography, colour, grid systems, etc).
- Expertise with design tools and other prototyping tools.
- Experience working in an agile environment, delivering high-quality work.
- Experience designing web, and web responsive.
- Experience leading product design projects.
- Experience conducting usability testing, surveys, interviews.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate ideas, designs, and suggestions
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Strong team player who can collaborate effectively with different stakeholders
- Active listener, able to use the feedback received on a daily basis to improve the performance.
It would be a bonus if you had:
- A bachelor’s degree is a plus
- Hospitality industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS and the use of precompilers (Sass).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards for the web.
