Principal Release Engineer

I'm working in partnership with one of Ireland's most recent Tech success stories as they continue to go from strength to strength and further expand their technical team. This role will join a team of 2 other release engineers responsible for a wide variety of duties. If you're someone who loves working with a range of tools and to work in a role where no 2 days are likely to be the same, then this is an environment where you'll thrive!

This role will suit a really technical person. Someone passionate about technical innovation who always wants to be learning and picking up new tools. You must come from a background in release engineering being very familiar with the release cycle but you could have moved into a DevOps role or something similar in the recent past. This is a very influential role within my client's technical department so it's important you are an accomplished senior engineer comfortable leading large-scale projects.

The role is a 50/50 split. One half being support of the development team and management of their release cycles. The other half is more strategic with a need to bring new ideas to the table and focus on how the team can improve release processes in the future.

Desired Technical Skills:

* Hands-on exposure to at least one OO programming language
* Excellent Linux skills
* Strong scripting
* Hands on experience driving automation and CI/CD
* Release Engineering experience
* Some public cloud experience would be a bonus
