Employing more than 35,000 people across 16 Government Departments, and more than 20 other Offices/ agencies nationwide, and with a vision to provide world-class digital services to the State and to the people of Ireland, the Civil Service is now recruiting Senior ICT Digital Business Engagement Specialists at Higher Executive Officer level.

 

The Senior ICT Digital Business Engagement Specialist is generally a team-lead role which offers you the opportunity to further develop your digital and ICT career while working in some of the largest organisations in the State.  Senior ICT Digital Business Engagement Specialist roles can vary significantly from organisation to organisation.  While some roles will involve policy development at national/ EU level, most roles are positioned within ICT/ digital areas with particular focus on enabling and supporting organisations and business units on their digital transformation journey, partnering with business units in areas such as:

  • business analysis, process improvement, innovation, user journey mapping and customer experience design;
  • project management;
  • vendor and contract management;
  • ICT policy and strategy development and research;
  • business relationship and account management;
  • ICT standards development and application;
  • development and application of relevant national and EU legislation or initiatives;
  • project/ programme evaluation; and
  • governance and oversight of ICT and digital initiatives.

 

Many of the candidates who were successful in recent campaigns are now integral to and leaders of teams who have been instrumental in the Government’s response to the pandemic and delivered critical projects of national importance and public prominence.

 

A panel will be formed from this competition to fill Senior ICT Digital Business Engagement Specialist vacancies in Civil Service Departments, such as the Department of Social Protection/ Agriculture, Food and The Marine/ Environment, Climate & Communications/ Housing, Local Government and Heritage/ Public Expenditure and Reform (Office of the Government CIO), offices such as the Revenue Commissioners and Office of Government Procurement, and Civil Service roles in An Garda Síochána.  Although the majority of vacancies arising over the lifetime of the panel will be located in the wider Dublin area, a limited number of vacancies may also arise in some regional locations which may be filled from this panel.
