Employing more than 35,000 people across 16 Government Departments, and more than 20 other Offices/ agencies nationwide, and with a vision to provide world-class digital services to the State and to the people of Ireland, the Civil Service is now recruiting Senior ICT Networks and Cyber Security Specialists at Higher Executive Officer level.

The Senior ICT Networks and Cyber Security Specialist is generally a team-lead role which offers you the opportunity to further develop your digital and ICT career while working in some of the largest organisations in the State.  These roles will suit you if you are interested in further developing your career in areas such as supporting and managing your organisation’s voice, data and video networks infrastructures (which may include a hybrid of cloud and on premise infrastructures), and supporting and managing your organisation’s cyber security systems and platforms by ensuring appropriate security for all areas within ICT.  Many of the candidates who were successful in recent campaigns are now integral to and leaders of teams who have been instrumental in the Government’s response to the pandemic and delivered critical projects of national importance and public prominence.

Although most vacancies arising over the lifetime of the panel will be located in the wider Dublin area, a limited number of vacancies may also arise in some regional locations which may be filled from this panel.  The panel formed from this competition will fill Senior ICT Networks and Cyber Security Specialist vacancies in Civil Service Departments, such as the Department of Social Protection/ Agriculture, Food and The Marine/ Public Expenditure and Reform (Office of the Government CIO)/ Education/ Enterprise, Trade and Employment, offices such as the Revenue Commissioners, Data Protection Commission, Chief State Solicitor's Office and the Houses of the Oireachtas Service, and Civil Service roles in An Garda Síochána.
