Linux System Engineer required for a leading Dublin based investment bank that provides cutting edge investment and capital markets products globally. The Linux System Engineer will join a team responsible for maintaining linux server hardware as well as project infrastructure configuration and implementation for linux servers deployed with the companies applications
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and implement solutions in partnership with application leads and architects
- Working closely with the technology and business partners to complete solution blue prints
- Ensure resulting solutions meet the needs of our business while also adhering to the company’s standards
- Maintain an understanding of business and technology directions as well as technology developments and industry trends
- Act as point of escalation for any unresolved Linux Server issues and Hardware technical issues
- Collaborate with vendors, consultants and partners in other areas of the business to develop technical solutions
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with the various Lines of Business
Requirements:
- 7 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware and Linux Server OS issues.
- Experience deploying on-premise, co-located and cloud-based server and network equipment
- Knowledge of public Cloud (Azure)
- Experience with the following;
- Redhat
- VMWare products
- TCP/IP, VLANs, Clustering
- HP Server hardware
- Exposure to Ansible and SALT is a bonus but not essential
Remuneration
- Starting salary of 70K – 80K
- 10% bonus
- 8% pension
- VHI
- 25 days AL
