IT Support Engineer 2.
The IT Support Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining our customer’s software systems. They are responsible for diagnosing any software faults with these systems and will solve the issues either in person, remotely or over the phone. They are required to respond to any client’s IT issues or requests within the agreed service level agreement time.
You need to have strong knowledge of computers and how they operate, which includes having a broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems and basic computer programming.
Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications and security may also be required. Consultants may also need good communication skills because this position requires frequent interaction with clients.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage any patching or upgrades to applications.
• Installing Specific Software applications and SQL.
• Installing hardware (Printers,Scanners) and software systems
• Troubleshooting a variety of computer issues
• Offering technical support on-site, remotely or via phone or email
• Training clients in any software applications used (including GP practice management software)
• Maintain documentation of technical maintenance procedures carried out
• Maintain Customer accounts, Quoting, invoicing and software licensing
• Demoing any software applications.


• Skills/Qualifications:
• You must be highly skilled in installing, repairing and troubleshooting Software Applications.
• Well-versed in installing windows, software, applications, antivirus and patches and have working knowledge of modern networking devices and printers. They must have the ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics
• Extensive experience in backup and image management software
• Expert user of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
• Able to configure VPN and server/client side hardware and software
• Proven record of managing time and priorities effectively
• Known for working efficiently without supervision (f) Committed to learn and relate technical concepts promptly
• Able to run network cables (CAT5/CAT6), patch panels and terminate cables
• Proficient in working with end-users remotely
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10
• Familiar with active directory security and policies
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and subnets
• Full driver’s license (m) Strong attention to detail
• Good organizational skills
• Able to lift heavy equipment and boxes
• Good customer service acumen
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Outstanding communication skills to relate with team members and support workers
• IT Technicians should have third level qualification in a relevant subject, and 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience.
