We are recruiting an experienced Corporate Senior Accountant to join our team based in Galway, Ireland. You will report to the Corporate Senior Finance Director (CSFD), and be a senior member of the Corporate Group Controllership team within the Planet Group.
You will be responsible for all aspects of Financial Accounting relating to a material company within the Planet Group. It is essential that you provide consistent high-level service in line with company policies and procedures reflecting our corporate values and behaviours.
What you will do
*
Preparation of monthly accounts for a material company within the Planet Group in line with month-end reporting deadlines.
*
Preparation of the year-end financial statements for this company, ensuring compliance of financial information (for tax and statutory purposes) with local GAAPs and IFRS.
*
Working with other senior finance team members in the delivery of the Group's centralised financial accounting and control function.
*
Coordinate monthly closing process, review of key areas, prepare opex commentary for submission to Group Finance.
*
Reconciliation of all balance sheet items and preparation of monthly files.
*
Responsible for accounting for all fixed assets, accruals and prepayments.
*
Responsibility for the preparation and filing of VAT returns.
*
Responsibility for the calculation of the Transfer Pricing invoices to other Planet Group Companies.
*
Processing of invoices (incoming and outgoing), involves ensuring correct approvals are obtained for all expenditure and that invoices and VAT elements are recorded correctly in the accounts.

Responsible for accounting for all bank activity and performing monthly bank reconciliations.
*
Authorise payments to ensure they are valid and accurate.
*
Work with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
*
Managing 3rd Party relationships effectively.
*
Assist the CSFD and the senior finance team with ad hoc group finance projects and ensure deadlines are adhered to.
*
Cooperate with other departments (e.g. Admin and Sales) to ensure the processes are aligned.

Assisting with the Group's intercompany and Transfer Pricing processes.
Who you are
Knowledge & Experience
*
Qualified Accountant (0-3 years experience)
*
Proficient computer skills; experience with Workday a plus
*
Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills
*
Ability to resolve issues and propose solutions to issues that arise on a day-to-day basis
*
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles.
*
Ability to focus on multiple tasks, while meeting all internal deadlines
*
Excellent IT skills including Windows, PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills, which are a key requirement and may be tested at the interview stage
