Based in Belfast, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team from two of the world leading ICT companies on cutting edge research in the areas of cloud computing, microgrid management and sustainability.
We are seeking driven software developers to support research and prototype development for testing and demonstrating of research concepts in cloud computing and smart grids.

Technical Skills

• Java development (8 years plus)
• Software services development (Cloud)
• Experience with build systems (e.g. Maven)
• Unit and integration testing experience
• Experience with software design techniques and UML modelling
• Knowledge of open source software tools, especially Apache projects
• Experience with RUP, Agile or other software lifecycle processes an advantage
• Experience with QT development environment 4.7 or later is highly desired
• Software experience within the electricity supply industry would be beneficial

Education:
• PhD, Masters or Bachelors in math or computer science with 0, 2 or 5 years industry experience respectively
In addition to a strong scientific and technical background, the position requires robust problem-solving capabilities with the ability to challenge and communicate effectively in a team environment.
