Developer / Engineer (Programmer)

Location: Our headquarters is located in central Dun Laoghaire, three minutes from the Dart and close to the seafront

Level of Experience:

Minimum 3 years, ideally 4-5 +

Company Description:

MedMedia Group is 21 years in operation, and has around 30 staff in its Dun Laoghaire headquarters. We specialise in online healthcare publishing, creative and digital services. The successful candidate will be working closely with our team of graphic designers, journalists and account handlers.

Duties include:

- Site maintenance and development (PHP/Perl/Javascript)

- MySQL database development and administration

- UNIX server maintenance

- Site monitoring and traffic reporting.

- Proven technical skills and communications ability a must. Excellent English essential.

Profile of candidate:

Duties include maintenance and adding new functionality and enhancements to Irishhealth.com, our multi award-winning consumer health website, which already has a database of close to 150,000 registered members. We also support other health-related websites and digital projects, as well as developing smartphone and iPad apps for internal and external healthcare clients.

Minimum 2/3 years experience working and programming in LAMP environment.

Minimum BSc/MSc Computer Science/Computer Engineering (or related degree)

First class knowledge and experience of web application development using

PHP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript and AJAX (jQuery).

In depth knowledge of MySQL and linux/Unix essential.

Familiarity with Streaming Audio and Video, as well as Flash would also be useful. Experience with CMS, eg Drupal would be beneficial. An interest in app development would also be an advantage.
