Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) is a commercial semi-state body whose mission is to develop and promote Ireland as a world centre of excellence for horse racing and breeding.  Established under the Horse and Greyhound Racing Act 2001, it carries out the overall administration, promotion and development of the horse racing industry from its headquarters on the Curragh in County Kildare.

IT Business Analyst 

Horse Racing Ireland is seeking to recruit an IT Business Analyst to work as part of the IT team.  Reporting to the IT Program Manager, the Business Analyst will act as a dedicated resource to communicate urgency, value, benefit and risks of proposed IT systems solutions. In addition they will analyse, document and manage project requirements.

 

The Key Responsibilities Include:

·         Perform requirements gathering and analysis

·         Specify, define and document user requirements for new / enhanced systems

·         Develop and implement test plans to ensure successful delivery of projects

·         Accurately determine, assign, track and manage project tasks, activities, documentation and timelines

·         Manage & update risk & issue registers

·         Administer or assist quality review process

·         Administer or assist project board and project team meetings

·         Maintain adequate reporting in line with internal processes

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

 

Previous experience in a similar role with a BSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline and a Project Management qualification, preferably Prince II.  Possess a mixture of both business and IT project delivery experience with software vendor experience as well as third parties.  First-rate documentation skills and excellent communication skills with the ability to identify and understand user requirements and translate into technical documentation.  Excellent organisational skills and experience working to deadlines, managing multiple sub projects simultaneously, in a time sensitive environment.
