Job Summary
Homestay is building a new and innovative online service to disrupt the travel industry, and provide a new way to experience travel and meet new people.
We are looking for a full stack Ruby on Rails engineer who is equally happy digging through logs as well as designing the UX for a new feature. We are happy using whatever is the right tool for the job, so even if you haven't done Rails professionally before but you have good programming skills we would love to hear from you.
We were founded in 2011, have offices in St Stephen's Green at the heart of Dublin, and are well funded. We also have a table tennis table!
You will join a team of developers with experience in designing and deploying large-scale web applications in multiple programming languages. This is a unique opportunity to work in a small, high quality development team and use the latest frameworks and techniques.
Required skills:

· Ability to implement modern, responsive web user interfaces (HTML, CSS, JQuery)
· Willingness to roll-up your sleeves and work on all engineering problems, big and small
An insight on how we work:
· Test driven development with RSpec, Capibara, VCR, Continuous Integration
· Ruby on Rails stack with Slim, Coffeescript, Sidekiq, Redis, Web sockets, PubNub, OpenTok streaming
· APIs with JSON, Oauth2, Grape / Grape entity
· Frequent deployments and code peer reviewed with Git and pull requests
· Flat hierarchy, you can make the difference and grow within the team
What your role will be at homestay
You will be working on the main codebase of homestay.com adding new features and improving the existing features with the other developers.
This might include, for example, working on performance improvements, making changes to the website to improve conversion or fix errors that may arise.
You will be working with a Product manager and the CTO to scope work and implement the features that the team decides to implement.
You will constantly work with the other team members to design and refine the architecture of the system.
Your tasks will span various areas: from designing and updating the database, to updating our JSON API layer and the front end HTML/CSS and Javascript code.
We will expect you to become proficient in all areas over time.

Salary: €40-55k depending on experience
