Our prominent multinational client have retained IT Staff in the search for a suitably qualified:-

Network Engineer 3 - 4 Month Contract Ballina

LAN UPGRADE

Job Role and Responsibilities:

LAN UPGRADE. Normal 9-5 working hours apply. However, there will be a requirement to provide after hours call outs may be required. In addition there will be occasions to work overtime when
required.

Responsibilities include:

Provide support for the Desktop and Server Hardware and Software environment including:

  1. Onsite support for faults that cannot be
    resolved at first level.
  2. Diagnosis and second level support for Desktop PCs, Printer and peripheral equipment
  3. Set up standard configuration for all new PC's and ongoing maintenance of same.
  4. Compliance with and awareness of IT Corporate Audit Requirements
  5. Provide support for all in-house PC based applications, examples include
  6. Provide support for core desktop applications which include; Microsoft desktop applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Dial in communication Software
  7. Provide support and ongoing control at
    operating system level for : Local Area
    Network running under Windows Communications between all devices connected to LAN, Remote communications links
  8. Manage Anti Virus Software Server Administration, Signature Downloads, Desktop / Laptop support
  9. Access Control - LAN

Technical skills:

  • Windows XP for desktop
  • Windows 2000 for Server
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of Ethernet Cabling systems
  • Internet Technology
  • Card and memory replacements/upgrades
  • Identifying problems with hardware using hardware diagnostic tools
  • Resolving virus issues
  • Resolving desktop application issues, eg interfaces with palm pilots and mobile phones, incompatibilities between desktop applications, etc
  • Adherence to Corporate IT guidelines is essential.
  • Diligence in complying with Software Licensing obligations.
  • Diligence in keeping hardware asset register updated

Personal skills:

  • Candidate must be a team player.
  • Ability to work cross functionally, highly motivated, and proactive communicator
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and good telephone manner
  • Strong Customer Service focus
  • Education/Experience Requirements:
  • To be successful in this role you will require:
  • Diploma or Degree in IT or closely related field. 3 -4 years of relevant experience Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) qualifications desirable.
