We require an Operational Product Owner to take ownership of one or more functional areas and to work closely with the Head Product Owner and other OPOs to ensure that the product(s) meet the Customer needs. You will join our expanding team working with exciting new technologies in our offices based in the heart of Dublin city-centre.
 
Role:  An Agile Product Owner Role focused on the operational side of product and service introduction. There are two aspects to this role:

Customer Champion (External Facing role and responsibilities) which involves:
 
• Work with customers to understand their needs and requirements and translate these into product features.
• Manage stakeholder expectations with respect to delivery capability and release planning. 
• Understand the customer needs and define the product backlog to reflect their requirements
• Produce the product-technology roadmap(s) that reflect a good understanding of the markets and applications. 
 
Team Technical Champion (Internal Facing role and responsibilities) which involves:
 
• Help remove internal road blockers. 
• Act as a facilitator across multiple functional areas ensuring a common view of the overall goals.
• Work closely with the teams to identify what needs to be done and help them develop prototypes
• Be challenging 
• Ensure overall quality of delivery
 
Responsibilities

  • Act as “one voice” on all cross-product/platform issues.
  • Evangelise the Product Vision and Value to all stakeholders.
  • Work with customers to understand their needs and requirements and translate these into product features.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations with respect to delivery capability and release planning.
  • Maintaining and managing the Product Release Plan.
  • Set high level goals for each product release, showing the outline plan for the delivery of customer value and high-level features.
  • Backlog management - ensuring that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the Scrum Team(s) will work on next.
  • Maintain product backlog - create and maintain Requirements in Jira to accurately reflect Scope; Resolve any issues/clarifications (Jira: Requirements Project, traceability to Epics)

 Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in delivering enterprise level software in a Telecoms environment.
  • Knowledge of Telecoms Operational Support Systems (OSS) and/or DevOps environments.
  • Skilled in using agile software development processes with a focus on delivering quality software.
  • Knowledge of Agile Estimation and Planning techniques.
  • Adaptable - You should be open to take on new roles, new relationships, new values, new behaviours, and new approaches to work on a continuous basis
  • Collaborative - You should be value direct communication with customers rather than tools and processes, in order find solutions.
  • Assertive - You should have the confidence to challenge decisions when needed and propose alternatives, both towards the team and customer. 
  • Innovative - You should have a natural curiosity and a desire to continuously improve, a willingness to make decisions and work with others to put them into effect.
