SENIOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER JAVA
The client is a leading Financial Services Operation with clients and offices around the world. This role is based in their Dublin operation where they have a great reputation as an employer.
The Senior Application Developer will be responsible for analysis, design, development, support and maintenance of java and web based applications used by the Client.
The Principal accountabilities of the role are:
Development in Java architecture and related technologies, according to development best practices and current development technologies
Working closely with both internal and external business clients to translate business requirements and develop high quality software applications
Collaborate with global IT team on various development projects
The role involves participation throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle including analysis, design, development and integration
Candidates should have a minimum of five years hands on java programming with senior-level expertise in core Java and JEE server side & client-side Web application development. Experience with IBM WebSphere 8.0+ & Tomcat. Demonstrated experience in enforcing development policies and standards. Senior-level experience designing, developing and tuning complex n-tier applications. Experience with Oracle 11g, PL/SQL. Experience with testing (unit & integration), debugging, and profiling J2EE applications. Knowledge of caching, transaction management, thread pooling and connection pooling.
Knowledge of XML, JSON, JMS, Hibernate, JPA, ExtJs MVC, SVN, Maven, JIRA/Confluence, Liferay Portal, JasperReports
Working knowledge of network infrastructure, capacity planning and performance testing. Familiarity in working on NT and UNIX operating systems. Excellent problem solving and communication skills. Ability to identify and evaluate technologies.
Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies. Expertise in building and supporting large-scale systems, full lifecycle application development
