We are seeking a Senior Network Engineering Specialist with network design & implementation expertise to play a lead role on global network engineering projects. You will take responsibility for a number of new network installations and also network upgrade projects.
Please note that this is a technical role and technical expertise is the key element of what we are looking for, in conjunction with network project co-ordination.
Your role will include, designing network solutions based around CISCO technologies - routing, switching, datacentre operations, network security as well as co-ordinating local resources, implementing and testing the network solutions.
You will be working on internal global projects - LAN/WAN & wireless - building modern network configurations through to implementation and support for this international organisation.
Some travel and on-call required.
My client is an international organisation providing enterprise services.
The role:
* Design & installation of CISCO networking solutions
* Work on both global network projects & some Datacentre operations
* Implement changes for systems for security and compliance
* Performs network system upgrades; install OS, maintenance releases, critical fixes and service packs; assist with application upgrades, installations and systems monitoring
* Define, create and deliver documentation
* Network administration, to include the OS, for the following environment: Voice, Video, Switches, Routers, access points, Load Balancers, Firewall.
* Provide 3rd level support on network related issues.
* Network interfaces - LAN/WAN interfaces; troubleshoot LAN and TCP/IP issues on servers; DNS and DHCP configuration and troubleshooting.
* Manage and maintain the BGP WAN backbone.
* Wireless network configuration and management.
* Participate in global support on-call rotation
Skills & Experience required
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
* 5 years of experience designing, installing and configuring networks.
* CISCO design & implementation expertise
* CCNP qualification essential. (CCIE would be advantageous.)
* Ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure.
* Expertise in the installation, configuration and support of enterprise applications such as Switches, Routers, access points, Load Balancers, Firewalls, etc.
* Change management and change control processes.
* Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
* Strong experience in routing protocols particularly in BGP
* Any voice - VOIP, SIP, etc is highly advantageous as is CISCO Unified communications manager & related tools
Salary = €65-75K
