Job Title: PostgreSQL DBA

My client, a leading edge global Software house based in Dublin City centre, is now urgently seeking a talented senior PostgreSQL DBA to join their ever growing team.

This role will give you the opportunity to run parts of the Internet's core infrastructure and work with one of the world's most advanced open-source database.

If you are someone who has a passion for working in a 24/7 environment with advanced replicated database clusters and perhaps have "Slony" experience then this is the position for you.

The Job:

* Working as part of the DBA team you will be responsible for 100 production / QA PostgreSQL databases running Slony clusters on Linux platform.
* Provide day-to-day database support / maintenance
* Work across development / technical projects in conjunction with developers, system administrators, QA

Requirements:

* 5 years PostgreSQL experience a must
* Experience with Oracle, DB2, Sybase, or MS-SQL *big plus)
* Slony experience a massive plus
* Experience contributing back to open-source packages very much welcomed
* Expert understanding of principals of database administration, data analysis, database schema design (ability to explain this to non-technical / technical people)
* RDBMS & Replication
* SQL queries, triggers, and stored procedures' coding and improvements.
* deployment automation tools (puppet etc..)
* Scripting experience (any of: Unix, Perl, Ruby, Python, etc.).
* Exposure to Data Administration concepts (Metadata Repository, ETLs, etc.) highly desired
