Java Developer required for highly successful financial company in Dublin - excellent salary and benefits package on offer!
This position focuses on designing, developing, implementing and maintaining connectivity applications and also data interfaces between my client and Prime Brokers, Counterparties, Banks, Clients and third party systems/ providers.
Responsibilities
* Support/enhance the current Java suite of Connectivity tools and applications.
* Work in virtual project teams to create necessary tools and systems to enhance the scalability of our data interfaces and other internal data processing requirements.
* Serve as escalation point for the Data Delivery Support Team on production data/ interface issues.
* Take direction from Team Leads/BA's as regards the implementation of new functionality in the existing application suite.
* Ensure successful delivery and customer satisfaction as well as management of service expectations including work products, timing, and value to be delivered.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
* Degree qualified in Computing or an IT-related discipline.
* 1-3 years commercial experience, preferably in financial services, supporting high volume/scalable Java applications.
* Excellent Java language skills are essential for this role.
* Experience in using application servers (e.g. Websphere Application Server, Tomcat) is a benefit.
* Experience with JMS and implementing MQ based solutions a plus.
* Good working knowledge of other DB technologies, both Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and PL/SQL Oracle.
* Good understanding of Unix/Wintel OS.
* Knowledge of SVN, Maven and JIRA a plus.
* A demonstrated interest in the financial markets and hedge fund industry.
* Technical design experience.
* Full project lifecycle experience.
* Application and Connection Pooling.
* Strong analytical, communications and personal skills.
