Propylon has an excellent opportunity
for a Jr/Sr Python Developer to work within Propylon's core product
group. The successful applicant will become part of Propylon's Core
Development Team. If you have a passion for innovation, a desire to
build world-class software and see it through to production then this

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will
participate and be responsible for the design/development &
deployment of high volume, low latency distributed data processing
pipelines in a Unix compute-cloud environment. Processing involves
high volume heterogeneous data sets often featuring hierarchical,
web-centric data models and package the processing pipelines into
forms suitable for use by Propylon's services group.

The role also provides the opportunity
to contribute to Propylon's core product set by developing re-usable
tools, techniques and procedures for high volume distributed data
processing.

Essential

* 10 years exp in a Unix environment
working with large data sets

* A track record of building and
deploying high data volume systems

* 5 years exp of Python
knowledge

Highly Desirable

* Django
* Unix pipeline paradigms
* Gnu Parallel XML distributed/cloud
computing

Requirements

* Degree in
Computer Science or relevant work experience
* Must be a self-starter with a "can
do" attitude.
