About the role

The Technical Architect is responsible for the overall technical design and build of the custom elements of the solution. The Technical Architect works as a team member along with the Engagement Manager, Developer and Solutions Architect to deliver the complete solution for the customer.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in Cloud, Mobile, Mapping and Image technologies and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.

Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities


•    Develop technical specifications for solution development and systems integration requirements

•    Produce a detailed technical design document to match the solution design specifications

•    Complete/oversee the development and quality assurance efforts

•    Participate and lead, when needed, the project meetings with the customer

•    Manage multiple development designs and projects to meet project and customer required time lines

•    Designing user interaction models, workflows and user interfaces

•    Creating prototypes and authoring detailed interaction specifications

•    Translating usability and field research findings into design improvements

•    Working with visual designers to improve and refine product visual design and consistency

•    Successfully communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale
Requirements

•    B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred

•    5+ years experience leading large design efforts and coordinating project teams of 4 or more members

•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

•    Mastery of user interaction design skills

•    Willingness to travel to client locations

•    Ability to understand the business requirements and converting them into solution designs

•    Strong knowledge and understanding of Web Service API’s for integration purposes

•    Experience with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation and load (ETL) tools

•    Knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints

•    Hands-on expertise in some of the following technologies: Workflows, Integration/EAI technologies Java/J2EE, including SOAP, RESTful and related technologies (JSON, XML, etc.), Common frameworks such as struts, spring, hibernate, etc. and Database technologies (Oracle, MySQL, JDBC, SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures)

•    Must be familiar with c# applications running on the latest and more recent versions of MSSQL, SQL SERVER and .NET Framework

•    Must have a working knowledge of VMware

•    Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities

•    Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form

Other desired skills

•    An understanding of encryption, public/private key, signatures and certificates would be advantageous

•    Should have participated in, and be familiar with, Agile /Scrum project methodologies

•    Ability to work in team oriented environments

•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively

•    Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus
•    Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment

•    Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
