Hudson IT & Telecoms are seeking a IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer for a Fixed Term Contract role in Dublin City.
This is an excellent role for a strong technical expert with a mix of Unix, Networking, Security and related infrastructure technologies experience in addition to strong communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As part of a small team, you will be directly responsible for the infrastructure SLA's associated with the service as well as the architecture the services are built upon. You will have responsibility for various aspects of the hosted solutions architecture from both the technical hands-on, process analysis and audits perspective as well as liaising with clients, vendors and internal groups on IT related projects.
* Managing patch on a multi-location environment.
* Key and Cert management
* Management of various tools for monitoring, logging, source control, etc.
* Infrastructure costs management and reviews.
* Consulting on infrastructure elements of IT projects.
Core hours are 9 to 17:30 but occasional after hours and weekend work will be required as necessary to perform system upgrades and maintenance work.
The ideal candidate will be well rounded in all areas of IT. He/she will be comfortable with picking up unfamiliar technologies at short notice and be able to bring creative and workable solutions to all kinds of problems. The role requires a confident self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team. The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver effectively and professionally at all times, with keen attention to detail.
The following are required for this role.
* Minimum 5 years experience working in IT Infrastructure support environment.
* Excellent Unix, Linux knowledge and experience.
* Experience managing WANs, LANs, VPNs, firewalls.
* Experience working with logging, scripting, monitoring, alerting and reporting frameworks.
* Experience managing systems patching in a Multi Data centre environment.
* System security experience including Firewall configuration, key management.
* Experience taking ownership of projects from the start and follow them through to resolution as the role will have a high level of autonomy.
* Highly customer focused with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment and business needs
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
* Candidate must be willing to travel as required
* Fluency in English is essential

* Degree level in relevant discipline.
* Any knowledge of PCI, ISAE3402(SAS70) or ITIL certification.
* Experience setting up or working with CMDB a
* Experience managing co-location services.
