eBusiness Development Advisor

Overall Job Purpose:
The role of the e-business development advisor is to promote and provide a wide range of e-business supports for Irish SMEs. The focus of this role will be to ensure that the e-business needs of SMEs are met with innovative, creative and cost effective responses. The position will also entail follow up support to individual SMEs to ensure success of all e-business supports put in place. Additionally the role will require managing the relationship between individual SME units and external e-business consultants. Travel on a national ad hoc basis may be required. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To co-ordinate, manage and play an active role in the implementation of our client’s strategy for business and industry development.
To contribute to the research and development of innovative e-business supports for SMEs in response to emerging industry needs
To work closely with the e-business manager to facilitate SMEs in understanding the significance of the portfolio of our client’s e-business supports and identifying workable e-business solutions suitable for them To work with external consultants on the design and implementation of a portfolio of e-business solutions appropriate to tourism SMEs To manage and co-ordinate the delivery of these solutions To raise awareness of our client’s e-business supports through developing, coordinating and maintaining online / traditional nationwide marketing activities. To respond to requests for advice and information from both SMEs and external consultants and to provide support in a timely manner To collaborate with the e-Business Development Manager on a best practice approach in communicating and supporting regional Business Development Managers in the regional promotion of e-business supports To ensure e-business solutions are delivered to agreed best practice quality and timeframe standards and that these solutions meet the individual SME’s objectives and those of the client. To assist in the development of a measurement tool which records the quality of external consultant services and the business impact of our client’s e-business supports To undertake research projects and where necessary liaise with external bodies to ensure completion of the research To contribute to and initiate cross functional/ departmental / directorate team work To maintain an effective administration system to record key data, i.e. targets and budgetary performance, marketing information and client databases To develop tendering documentation in line with corporate tendering procedures for the design and delivery of our client’s e-business initiatives To undertake any other duties as required. Person Specification : Primary relevant degree or post graduate qualification in a business related discipline. A working knowledge of existing e-business and business best practices and an understanding of emerging technologies (including web 2.0 technologies) and their application to tourism SMEs Proven project management skills and the ability to communicate and promote ideas at all levels
Knowledge and understanding of the tourism and hospitality industry in Ireland A record of achievement of working, influencing and building relationships with internal and external clients with an ability to earn their respect, trust and confidence. Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, report writing, presentation and communication skills
Motivation to achieve quality results Strong business planning, evaluation & research skills
