Java Technical Architect – Principle Engineer

Java Technical Architect required this is to work in a senior capacity for a large Irish owned Financial Services organisation. The candidate will be a driven self motivated individual that likes a challenging and rewarding profession. You will be responsible for designing and delivering of quality technical solutions which are fit for purpose.
You will take ownership of technical delivery, and provide strong technical leadership.
Your responsibilities will be as follows:.
• Work with Solution Architects to define overall solution concepts and architectures.
• Responsible for detailed design of solutions that are scaleable, resilient, open, efficient, secure, and cost-effective.
• Ensures that all implementation decisions are both technically and commercially viable.
• Produces commercially viable estimates for technical work.
• Leads technical review activities within project.
• Identifies and resolves potential problems as early as possible.
• Maintains a current knowledge of relevant technology developments and standards. Proactively shares knowledge.
Your skills and experience will include:
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a technical environment,
• Demonstrable awareness of business environments into which solutions have been delivered,
• Experience of complete project life cycle, with specific emphasis on design, construction, testing and tools and methods,
• Sound understanding of tools, design methodologies and best practice,
• Strong Technical grounding in Java and Java related technologies,
• Competence in three or more architectures and/or technologies having successfully applied them in a commercial environment,
• Sound understanding of solutions deployment and operation as well as functionality,
• Sound understanding of security, performance tuning, capacity planning, resilience, and availability across heterogeneous architectures,
• Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and managing personal time,
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and supervising others.
