Life/400 Developer

Life 400 Developer required for Financial Services Client.
An opportunity has arisen for a software Developer in the Life/400 Development Team. This is a good opportunity for someone with an IT qualification and IT aptitude, Life and Pensions industry knowledge, diligence to consistently complete developments to high quality in a demanding team based environment.

Key Requirements:
For experienced candidates: Minimum 3-5 years design and development preferably on Life400 or equivalent COBOL based Life assurance admin system.
Solid knowledge of industry technologies, tools and languages.
Minimum 1 year Cobol development experience.
Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to deliver quality work according to our standards and procedures.
Good communication, interpersonal and team work skills essential, while also demonstrating ability to work on own initiative and be self sufficient.

Key Resonsibilities:
Develop and unit test high quality software, adhering to development life cycle best practises and in accordance with internally defined processes and procedures.
Work with business customers to help define requirements/solutions to issues.
Develop accurate estimates and adopt responsibility for delivering to agreed timescales.
Maintain software accurately in the configuration management tools.
Create/maintain high quality documentation adhering to Group and SOX standards/procedures
Learn the technical and functional aspects of Life400 as quickly as possible.
Leading developments and coaching others.
Proactively report progress/status for all tasks.
