Java Swing Developer

Java Swing Developer – wanted - Dublin City Center

The successful candidate will participate in the development effort of my clients enterprise software.

The main focus will be on delivering new features and enhancements to the data quality suite, primarily in the area of our user facing applications.

The candidate will be responsible at a sub-feature level for delivering, in a timely manner, well tested, scaleable and robust code.

The candidate should have an interest in user interface development.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for sub-components or small features in the product
• Participate with functional or design specifications, being responsible for sections of specifications
• Produce implementations in teams from existing functional specifications and designs
• Implement, unit test, and bug-fix well-defined functionality that satisfies stipulated requirements
• Produce reasonable estimates for small tasks and meet project schedules
• Suggest enhancements to existing components that contributes to product goals
• Implement code changes outlined by senior members based upon functional, design, and code reviews

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience
• Excellent Java programming skills
• Good experience with Java UI technologies such as Swing and/or SWT
• Experience with JUnit or other Java unit testing tools
• Experience in the full product lifecycle
• Experience of XML, UML, Databases
