My client is looking to employ a Business Systems Analyst with a minimum of 3 years experience in the delivery of the functional design of medium to large projects with experience of working in the utilities or financial services Sectors. The individual will be working as part of a team on client engagements to deliver outstanding consultancy. Partnering with the technical, business process and QA teams you will be responsible for successfully managing and delivering the design of projects by analysing and designing business and technical solutions which deliver the business promise within agreed technical constraints and client budget and timescales. Responsibilities will include: Partnering effectively with the designers to understand and interpret the design and then agree the scope of the technical solution in collaboration with the technical design team. Collaborating with the Technical Designer to ensure that functional requirements are met without compromising the business design and the promise to the client. Take ownership for the production, completion and maintenance of all functional specifications, ensuring that the customer has a full history of requirement specifications. On Internet based projects, collaborate with Web Design team to agree the implications of design on the functionality/requirements and coordinate with the Web Design team to ensure functionality is delivered in a usable framework. Adopt and follow a realistic change request procedure to track all changes that correspond with the client concerns. Support the QA team to help understand and interpret the functional requirements. Intervene and escalate issues where necessary. Skills required: · Proven experience of the ability to apply the skills of Business Analysis to any business issue, regardless of the type of project/industry, with a minimum of 3 years experience in this area and a detailed understanding of business process design and technology. · At least 3 years experience in the Utilities/Financial Services sector. · Education in computer science and / or business to degree level · Competent in requirements elicitation, [business] use-case modelling, business object modelling, functional specification. · Ability to build Excel Models. · Ability to functionally design new systems and integrate into back end systems based on guidelines from Technical Architect and senior analyst. · Competent using most of the following tools or an equivalent alternative:Word /Excel /PowerPoint/ Visio/ UML tool [e.g. Rational Rose, Object Domain, Select Enterprise, TogetherSoft] · Experience of structured business process design methodology including interviewing and requirements gathering, structured report writing, data modelling, process definition and knowledge of site mapping & information mapping techniques. · Comfortable having conversations with developers and technical architects and ability to liaise competently with both the business and technical teams. · Proficient analytical skills. · Good understanding of the capabilities and restraints of current technologies. · Good understanding of the requirements for various business requirements and can link those to the capabilities and constraints of various technologies. · A good knowledge of usability issues.
